Manokwari overview

Manokwari is an extremely pretty city in the West New Guinea area of Indonesia. Surrounded by endless green spaces, beaches and lakes, the city lures tourists with its stunning setting. There are very few decent hotels here as it is fairly untouched by the spoiling nature that hordes of tourists inevitably bring, and while it retains its charm, it lacks any good tourist infrastructure. It is also known as ‘Fruit City’ as it grows and sells a wide selection of fruits. Anggi Lake and Amban Beach are pleasant daytrip destinations. Gunung Meja Park also brings in a few visitors but for the best views of the cityscape, head for the mountains that encompass this unique city.
